Privacy Policy
Effective date: 25 August 2026 · Last updated: August 2026
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Base Technologies (“Company”, “we”, “us”, “our”), the owner and operator of the DigiJain mobile application and website digijain.in (“App”, “Services”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you (“User”, “you”, “your”) when you use our Services.
This Policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions and Refunds & Cancellations policy. By using the Services, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.
1. Our approach to your data
We collect only what is necessary to book and perform your puja, process your payment, and support you — and we do not store sensitive payment credentials at all. Details of what this means in practice are set out below.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Account details: name, mobile number, email address.
- Booking / sankalp details: the name(s), gotra, and other religious/ritual-specific details of the person(s) on whose behalf a puja is booked, as required by the priest to perform the ritual correctly.
- Communications: any information you share when contacting customer support (e.g. via email, in-app chat, or phone).
2.2 Information collected during payment
- When you make a payment, you are directed to a secure interface provided by our third-party, RBI-authorized payment gateway partner(s).
- We do not collect, view, or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, net-banking password, or any other sensitive payment credential. These are captured and processed directly by the payment gateway in accordance with applicable security standards (including PCI-DSS, where applicable to the gateway).
- We receive and retain only limited, non-sensitive transaction metadata from the gateway — such as transaction ID, payment status (success/failure), amount, payment method type (e.g. UPI or Card), and masked identifiers (e.g. last 4 digits of a card, where provided by the gateway). This is used solely for booking confirmation, invoicing, refunds, and customer support.
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and usage logs (e.g. pages/screens visited, features used), collected for app performance, security, and fraud prevention.
- Cookies/similar technologies on our website (digijain.in), used for functionality and analytics. You may control cookies through your browser settings.
2.4 Information we do NOT collect or store
For clarity, we do not:
- Store your card number, CVV, card expiry, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials;
- Store your login passwords in plain, readable text;
- Sell your personal information to third parties for their independent marketing use.
3. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- Create and manage your account;
- Process and confirm puja bookings, and share necessary sankalp details with the priest performing the ritual;
- Process payments, issue invoices/receipts, and handle refunds (as per our Refunds & Cancellations policy);
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, and service-related communications (via SMS, WhatsApp, email, or push notification);
- Respond to customer support queries and grievances;
- Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the App;
- Comply with applicable legal, tax (e.g. GST invoicing), and regulatory obligations;
- Detect and prevent fraud, unauthorized access, or misuse of the Services.
We do not use your religious/sankalp details (name, gotra, etc.) for any purpose other than facilitating the puja you have booked, unless you separately consent (e.g. to receive festival greetings or promotional offers).
4. How we share your information
We share your information only as follows:
| Recipient | What is shared | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Priests engaged by the Company | Name, gotra, sankalp details of the person(s) on whose behalf the puja is booked | To perform the booked ritual accurately |

| Analytics providers | Device/usage data (generally aggregated or pseudonymized) | To understand app usage and improve the Services |
| Government/regulatory/law enforcement authorities | Relevant information, only where legally required | To comply with applicable law, court orders, or lawful requests |
We require all third-party service providers who process personal data on our behalf to maintain appropriate confidentiality and security safeguards. We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or third parties for their independent marketing purposes.
5. Data retention
We retain your personal and booking information for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- Fulfil the purpose for which it was collected (e.g. completing your puja booking);
- Comply with tax, accounting, and legal record-keeping obligations (e.g. GST invoices, typically retained per statutory timelines);
- Resolve disputes, handle refund requests, and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
Once these purposes are served, we securely delete or anonymize the data, except where retention is required by law.
6. Data security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls, encryption in transit (e.g. HTTPS/TLS), and reliance on payment gateways that meet applicable industry security standards for handling payment data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account login credentials confidential.

Subject to applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Withdraw consent for optional data uses (e.g. promotional communications), without affecting the lawfulness of processing already carried out;
